BlueScope Steel Malaysia is proud to present our first batch of graduates of the Six Sigma
programme with nine graduates with Green Belt. The Six Sigma programme is targeted to a crossfunctional team on process improvement via variation reduction, process standardization and costsaving. It is aimed to improve on the yield for MCL and CPL as well as OEE together with customer satisfaction, cost reduction and value creation.
The programme which started in March this year focused on a systematic and analytical way of
managing and monitoring performance for the business. It was successfully completed with a
significant cost saving as value creation over duration of six months.
Moving forward, the Six Sigma approach would be applied as a day-to-day process with
continuous improvement from Green Belt to Black Belts.
