The Country President of BlueScope Steel Malaysia, Somkiat Pinthatam received the award from the former Minister of International Trade and Industry, YAB Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz during the Awards Gala Dinner on 8th January in Kuala Lumpur.

Clean COLORBOND^® steel has been awarded the SME Chapter Awards 2009 for Brand Excellence in Product Branding – Manufacturing of Pre-painted Steel in Malaysia.

This prestigious recognition is awarded by the BrandLaureaute Asia Pacific Brands Foundation (APBF) committee with a unanimous decision that Clean COLORBOND^® steel is deserving and worthy of the award. The BrandLaureate – SMEs Chapter Awards recognizes the best of brands which have top practices to remain competitive in the market to help nurture the growth of the nation.

The judging criteria for the award covers a broad aspect from brand strategy, brand culture, integrated brand communication, brand equity to brand performance whereby application for the award is by nomination only.

The BSM team is very proud of this accomplishment and it is the first time a product brand for the business has been recognized by a third party credible organization. This marks a new milestone for the team in Malaysia.   

Clean COLORBOND^® steel has been available in Malaysia more than 40 years ago and the brand has indeed come a long way to be in a dynamic position as a market leader in the industry.
